Congratulations to Charles Kim on receiving tenure at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is the Korea Foundation Associate Professor of Korean Studies. He specializes in twentieth-century Korea, focusing on culture, ideas, and society in South Korea. His research and teaching interests include narratives, ideologies, nation, media, and gender. His Youth for Nation: Culture and Protest in Cold War South Korea is forthcoming from Columbia University Press (Studies of the Weatherhead East Asian Institute). Professor Kim received his PhD from Columbia University.
