Korea Focus serves SIPA and broader Columbia communities with interest in Korea in order to accomplish the following goals:
1. To enhance the understanding as well as encouraging the research studies of Korea related issues, especially US-Korea relations and North Korea issues through guest lecture and seminar series panel discussions with experts and faculty members;
2. To facilitate professional networking opportunities ;
3. To promote cultural exchanges and historical understanding;
4. To prepare next generation leaders by widening the knowledge on Korea related issues.
Korea Focus, The Korea Foundation
Korea Focus is a monthly webzine and a quarterly journal, featuring commentaries and essays on Korean politics, economy, society and culture, as well as relevant international issues. The articles are selected from leading Korean newspapers, magazines, journals and academic papers from prestigious forums.
Since its inception in 1993, the journal has served as a foremost source of objective information on Korea, contributing to a broader understanding in Korean society in the international community and promoting Korean studies at academic institutions abroad. It is circulated among major international organizations, universities, libraries, Korean studies institutes and individual researchers in some 150 countries. Korea Focus helps to bolster the effectiveness of the global Korean Studies network, of which the Center for Korean Studies is a key member.
