Columbia-USC Graduate Exchange Program

Columbia-USC Graduate Exchange Program

Columbia University’s Center for Korean Research has partnered with the University of Southern California’s Korean Studies Institute to establish the Columbia-USC Graduate Exchange Program. The program brings together graduate students in the humanities and social sciences to foster scholarly exchange, intellectual collaboration, and professional connections across the two institutions.

Each year, selected graduate students from Columbia and USC participate in a work-in-progress workshop, presenting their research and engaging in discussion with faculty and fellow graduate students in Korean Studies. The program provides an opportunity for emerging scholars to receive feedback on their work, exchange ideas across institutions, and develop lasting connections with peers and faculty. Through this exchange, the program aims to strengthen the community of scholars working in Korean Studies and create opportunities for future collaboration.

The inaugural workshop was held at Columbia University in New York on May 11–12, 2026.
