Seoeun (Sunny) Choi is a second-year MA student in East Asian Languages and Cultures (EALAC) focusing on modern Korean literature and film. She works primarily on narratives set in 20th century Korea, and her interests lie in the conflict of dualisms (in conversation with cyborg theory), revisions and reinterpretations within historical fiction, and the division of the Korean peninsula. Her other interests include psychoanalysis, waste studies, gender studies, and disability studies. Before Columbia, Seoeun received her BA in Comparative Literature (English, German, and Korean) and History from Brown University in 2024.
